How Hyper handles personal information across our website, enquiries, services and communities.

Hyper Apps Pty Ltd (ABN 51 607 921 648), trading as Hyper and Hyper Startup Studio, respects your privacy.

This policy explains how we handle personal information across our website, enquiries, services and communities, including Apollo and Hyper Ventures.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide when you contact us, submit an enquiry, book a meeting, join our community or use our services. This may include:

  • Your name, contact details and business information.
  • Information about your startup, goals and project.
  • Correspondence, meeting notes, call recordings, transcripts and summaries.
  • Billing, transaction and membership information.
  • Information you contribute to our community or events.

We also collect information about how people use our website and interact with our marketing, including device information, IP addresses, page visits and enquiry or conversion activity.

Where practical, you can make a general enquiry without identifying yourself. We may need your details to respond to a specific request or provide a service.

How we use information

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, arrange meetings, provide services, manage projects and memberships, process payments and maintain business records.

We also use it to improve our services, support and coach our team, communicate relevant updates, measure marketing performance and meet legal obligations.

When you submit an enquiry requesting contact, we may follow up by phone, email or SMS.

Calls, meetings and AI tools

We record inbound and outbound phone calls through our business phone system. Selected meetings are also transcribed or summarised.

We use software, including AI tools, to process recordings, correspondence and other information provided to us. This supports transcription, summaries, internal assistance, coaching and our work with you. These tools may generate information about you, and their outputs can contain errors.

Recordings, transcripts and summaries may be accessible to relevant team members and service providers. Please tell us if you have concerns about recording or transcription, or believe a record needs correcting.

These records are working business records and are not maintained as a permanent archive for you. Their availability is subject to our retention practices and applicable legal requirements.

Our funding readiness scorecard uses an AI model, provided by Anthropic, to run the conversation and write your result. What you type is sent to that provider to produce the next question and your score, and is not stored by us unless you choose to send your result to our team. Keep sensitive details out of the scorecard. Anthropic handles the information under its own terms and does not use it to train its models.

Newsletters and marketing

Our enquiry process includes enrolment in Hyper's email updates, including newsletters, events and information about our services, subject to applicable consent requirements.

You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or contact us to update your preferences. We may still send communications needed to manage an enquiry, service or account.

We do not buy or sell marketing databases.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to operate our website, understand usage and measure and improve advertising.

We also send contact identifiers, such as email addresses and phone numbers, together with enquiry and conversion information, to advertising platforms. This helps match interactions to advertising, assess lead quality and improve campaign performance.

This may involve providers such as Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok and other analytics or advertising services. Providers handle information under their applicable terms and privacy policies.

We also use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our website. Clarity records how you interact with pages, including clicks, scrolling, mouse movement and the pages you visit, and can replay a session as a recording and build heatmaps from aggregated behaviour. It sets cookies to recognise a returning browser. Text you type into forms is masked before it reaches Clarity. We use this to find and fix problems with the website and to improve it. Microsoft processes this information under the Microsoft Privacy Statement, which may involve servers outside Australia.

You can manage cookies through your browser and advertising preferences through the relevant platform. Browser cookie controls may not prevent information being sent directly from our business systems.

Who we share information with

Relevant staff, contractors and delivery partners may access information needed for their work.

We use external providers for communications, bookings, customer management, storage, collaboration, automation, AI assistance, payments, community hosting and marketing.

We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law, to obtain professional advice or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We seek your permission before making a referral introduction that shares your details with another business. We do not automatically provide our lead database to referral partners.

Information you choose to post in a community may be visible to other people according to that space's access settings.

Overseas processing

Although our team is based in Australia, some technology providers and their service providers may store, access or process information overseas.

Applicable privacy obligations continue to govern our handling of information when overseas providers are involved.

Security and retention

We are required to take reasonable steps to protect personal information against misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No online service or storage system can guarantee complete security.

Retention depends on the information, why it is needed and applicable legal or recordkeeping requirements. We do not promise to keep recordings or other records indefinitely.

When personal information is no longer needed for a permitted purpose, we are required to take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it, unless retention is required by law. Records may also need to be preserved for an existing dispute or legal obligation.

Access, corrections and complaints

Contact team@hyperhq.com to request access to or correction of your personal information, update your preferences or raise a privacy concern.

We may need to verify your identity. We will consider requests under applicable law and explain any refusal where required.

If you make a complaint, we will review it and respond within a reasonable period. If you are dissatisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Updates

We may update this policy as our practices or legal obligations change. The current version will be published here with its updated date.
