Who are you and what is Allset?
I’m Karl Kaldawi, and I founded Allset with my co-founder, Lucy Davies. Allset lets organisers plan a whole group event in one place: invite guests, collect payments, automate RSVP reminders and even add a co-host to share the load, while booking real venues, food, entertainment and experiences directly through the platform.
What made group event planning worth building a business around?
Planning a group event is usually messy. People lose track of plans, guests get confused about details, and whoever’s organising ends up chasing everyone for payments. On the other side, I kept hearing from event suppliers who felt the same frustration in reverse: party planners couldn’t find them, and they were tired of paying for leads that never turned into bookings. I wanted one platform that fixed both sides of that problem at once. I believed in it enough to leave my job and work on Allset full time.
How did Hyper help you turn the idea into a real business?
Before Hyper, the hardest part for me was knowing which questions actually mattered. There’s endless advice out there on starting a business, and every answer seemed to open three more questions. It was easy to feel busy and get nowhere.
Hyper paired me with two consultants who helped cut through that noise and kept the thinking simple, which forced me to sharpen exactly what Allset is, the problem it solves and how to execute it properly. I came in knowing very little about startups and left understanding business models, investment and validation, with every question answered one on one in a relaxed environment. That gave me the confidence and the stepping stones to finalise the business model and get a clear path to launch.
Where is Allset today?
Allset is live in a soft launch. We’ve onboarded 31 event suppliers, and organisers have created 20 events between drafts and completions, run by 16 different hosts so far, some already through with real guests and real payments changing hands. Across hosts and guests, we’re now at 70 signed-up users, and the number’s climbing every day.
A big part of that has come from building a genuine audience outside our own network. Karl’s TikTok account has passed 1,300 followers and 3.4 million video views, and that’s actually where some of our first organic booking interest came from, people we’d never met, outside the waitlist and outside friends and family. We’ve since started building an Instagram presence too. I’m genuinely proud of that audience, and it’s already translating into real interest and bookings on the platform.
We’re using all of this early feedback to keep refining Allset before we open it up more broadly.
