Who are you and what is Bndle?
We’re Vish and Lucy Burgul, the husband-and-wife founders of Bndle. We created an online marketplace that brought independent baby and children’s brands together in one place. The platform used personalisation to recommend products, services and expert guidance around each child’s age and developmental stage, helping parents find what they needed without searching across dozens of separate websites.
What happened that made you think this needed to exist?
We became parents for the first time in 2020 and quickly discovered how confusing online shopping for a baby could be. We were exhausted, surrounded by information and still struggling to work out which products were right for our daughter. The experience felt fragmented and time-consuming. We knew other parents were facing the same problem, while brilliant independent brands were struggling to be discovered in a crowded market.
How did you turn that experience into a business?
We understood the problem and needed a clear route from the idea to a viable marketplace. The biggest shift came from simplifying the concept and deciding what genuinely needed to be built first.
“Less is more” became an important lesson for us. It helped us restructure the roadmap, focus the product and reach key milestones faster. Bndle launched with more than 130 brands and over 6,000 curated products. We also raised $915,000 through friends, family, crowdfunding and angel investment.
Where did the Bndle journey lead?
Bndle became a finalist in the 2024 UK StartUp Awards and was recognised by TechRound for its work in parent technology. The business showed that parents wanted a more personal and joined-up way to shop, and that independent brands needed a better route to families.
Note: Bndle’s operating journey has now ended as of January 2026. This entry is now a historical founder story.
