Who are you and what is GamePulse?

We’re Kane Tolliday and Tony Mirabella, two grassroots football coaches from country Victoria. Kane coaches at Waubra in the Central Highlands league near Ballarat, and Tony coaches in the Bellarine competition. Together we founded GamePulse.

GamePulse is a real-time stats tracking and coaching platform built for grassroots clubs. Coaches and team managers can record scores, disposals, tackles and other stats from the sideline on any phone, then use live dashboards and AI-powered insights to make better calls during the game and across a season.

What was missing from grassroots coaching that you saw every week?

As grassroots coaches, we saw the same problem week after week. Elite sporting organisations had access to detailed performance data, but community coaches and clubs never had the same practical, affordable insights to help them make better decisions on game day.

We already understood the problem inside out because we were living it, coaching every week with nothing more than a notepad on the sideline. Turning that daily frustration into an actual product was the part we didn’t know how to do.

How did you turn the idea into a real product?

Hyper helped us take the idea out of our heads and turn it into something tangible. From developing the GamePulse name and brand to building our first prototype and understanding the steps involved in building a product, we finally had a clear path forward.

The biggest lesson we took from that process was how to turn our coaching and sport knowledge into a startup. Having experienced founders and advisors guide us through those early stages gave us the confidence to keep moving and helped us build the foundations of GamePulse.

Where is GamePulse today?

What began as an AFL statistics tool has grown into a multi-sport platform now supporting AFL, netball, soccer, rugby league and basketball, with cricket next in development. We’ve added player tracking, heat maps, advanced statistics and AI-driven insights along the way.

We’re building GamePulse from inside grassroots sport. We use it with our own teams every week, testing it in real coaching environments and improving it based on what coaches actually need. Clubs like Skipton FC and Riverside SC are already using it to run their whole club off real numbers instead of guesswork. That’s always been the goal: giving grassroots coaches access to the same insights that have traditionally only been available to elite organisations.
