James’ Journey with Hyper

“Before building GymCoin, I spent years working across fitness and tech. I led national sales at Rewardle, which gave me a real appreciation for how reward platforms could help gyms hold onto their members. From there, I built WestFleet, giving gym members access to nutritionist support and AI-driven plans. That became the foundation for what eventually pivoted into GymCoin.

The biggest challenge I faced before joining Hyper was knowing the platform had potential but not being able to get it to where it needed to be on my own. I had already built a version, but it needed serious uplift to be something I could take to market with confidence.

Hyper helped me work through that. They brought structure to the product and handled the strategy and design work, which meant I could stay focused rather than getting pulled in every direction.

One of the most valuable things I gained was clarity. Knowing what to focus on, what to let go of, and what the product actually needed to be before I started putting it in front of gyms.

Thanks to that process, GymCoin is now live in gyms like Anytime Fitness, and boutique class-based studios. GymCoin is doing what it was built to do: rewarding members for showing up and giving gyms a real tool to keep them coming back.”
