Matt and Ryan’s Journey with Hyper
Before building SPORTL, Matt was working in consulting and technology, and I was working as a financial analyst. We both had strong business backgrounds and a shared passion for fitness. SPORTL came from our own frustration with the lack of flexibility in the fitness industry, we wanted a better way for people to access gyms without rigid memberships.
The biggest challenge we faced early on was finding the time to focus on something new while maintaining full-time jobs. On top of that, the fitness industry was a completely new territory for us professionally, so turning our idea into a real product felt daunting.
Working with Hyper helped us move faster and stay focused. They took care of the heavy lifting on the MVP design and guided us on where to direct our energy so we could focus on the areas we were strongest in. One of the most valuable things we gained through the process was clarity. Whenever we felt distracted or overwhelmed, the team helped level us again and refocus on the next step that actually mattered.
Thanks to that structure and support, we were able to get to launch. Today, we’re both working full-time on SPORTL, have secured a founding team, onboarded 50 gyms across London, and raised $500k in pre-seed funding.
