Phil’s Journey with Hyper

“I’m a former professional rugby player who transitioned into technology, sales, and entrepreneurship after competing in Japan from 2018 to 2020. Alongside my corporate career, I founded Tickify with a simple belief: live event ticketing should work for organisers and fans, not against them. Tickify helps organisers gain greater control over ticket distribution, protect against unfair resale practices, and build stronger relationships with their audiences through actionable fan insights.

As a first-time founder, it’s easy to mistake activity for progress. Hyper gave me access to experienced operators who challenged my thinking, pushed me to validate assumptions, and helped me focus on what mattered most: finding genuine market demand. The weekly accountability and mentorship accelerated my learning curve dramatically. One lesson stood above the rest: stay obsessed with the problem, not the solution. Customer needs evolve, markets change, and founders need to remain flexible enough to adapt.

We’ve now launched our MVP across web, iOS, and Android, expanded into five countries, and powered more than 60 events ranging from grassroots experiences to partnerships with global sports personalities, including NBA MVP Allen Iverson’s basketball camp in Australia. We’ve also assembled an exceptional team featuring a CTO with a previous $15 million exit and advisors from Disney and Live Nation, all while remaining fully bootstrapped. Today, we’re preparing for our pre-seed round as we continue to scale the platform and expand into new markets.”
